This comprehensive training program is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and practical skills necessary to administer critical first aid in remote or isolated locations.

You'll learn to effectively respond to medical and traumatic emergencies in environments where immediate professional medical help may be limited or delayed.

This course not only emphasises the fundamental principles of first aid but also addresses specific strategies for improvising with limited resources, managing prolonged emergency situations, and effectively coordinating with external medical support.

You'll develop the confidence and competence required to handle a wide range of medical emergencies where prompt and effective first aid can be a matter of life or death.

This nationally accredited course covers how to:

  • respond to an emergency situation, apply correct first aid procedures and coordinate evacuations
  • conduct secondary assessments and look for vital signs
  • prepare equipment and perform risk assessments based on terrain/activity
  • perform resuscitation procedures, including defibrillator use
  • communicate details and review incidents
  • recognise signs and symptoms of life threatening bleeds, and how to manage them with tourniquets and haemostatic dressings
  • understand guidelines, workplace code of practice, legislation, duty of care and first aider responsibilities.

What our students say

The two-day remote first aid training was incredibly thorough and interesting. A day of theory provided us with all the base knowledge and strategies to apply first aid, and a day of working through real-world scenarios really helped each of us understand how we assess a situation and apply these strategies under time pressure. I would really recommend this course for anyone who does field work.
