Gain foundational skills and knowledge for working in a digital role with the Digital Technologies 101: Business Technologies for Work short course.
These ASQA-accredited units will teach you how to use technologies and software applications so that you can perform tasks and communicate effectively as a digital professional.
You'll learn how to:
- incorporate foundation-level digital literacy skills into work to find, evaluate and communicate using various technologies and applications
- identify appropriate methods of digital communication and select suitable applications for the work task
- use applications to communicate digitally and triage e-communications, including identifying suspicious or dangerous security threats
- recognise and respond to routine problems in an online work environment
- help with managing digital communications in the workplace specific for the intended audience and organisational needs
- recognise and respond to routine problems in an online work environment.
How you'll learn
This course has online and work-integrated learning components. It's self-paced, so you can flexibly fit your learning around the schedule of your organisation's colleagues.
Expect to spend 15 hours studying online and another 15 hours undertaking work-integrated learning to practice implementing skills and gathering assessment evidence.
Assessment
Assessments include online quizzes, case study assessments and a workplace assessment portfolio.

You will need:
- To have successfully completed Year 10, or equivalent.
- Access to a workplace as a volunteer or employee, or to a simulated environment as approved by the UQ Skills Associate Director, Education and Training.
All UQ Skills programs require access to a computer with a Windows operating system, up-to-date versions of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a reliable internet connection.
Recognition of Prior Learning
If you have recent work experience you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning.
