This interactive training program will equip you with the necessary skills to respond effectively in critical situations and to provide CPR to individuals experiencing cardiac arrest or respiratory distress.

This nationally accredited course covers how to:

  • respond to an emergency situation
  • recognise and respond to cardiac emergencies and respiratory distress 
  • perform different CPR techniques, including defibrillator use
  • communicate effectively with emergency services, bystanders and other rescuers 
  • understand legal and ethical considerations
  • implement infection control practices

Assessment

You must complete the online coursework and pass the quizzes at least 72 hours prior to the practical workshop.

You must have the physical capacity to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a floor.

We recommend being at least 16 years of age to participate in this course.

The techniques you will learn are in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

This course meets the nominated workplace first aider requirements under the Safe Work Australia First Aid Code of Practice.

The Code of Practice recommends you undertake refresher training in CPR annually and first aid qualifications every 3 years.
