Contract Management

Develop the practical skills and knowledge to effectively manage contracts throughout their lifecycle.
You'll learn how to plan and establish contract management processes, finalise contracts in line with organisational and legal requirements, and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance and successful outcomes.
The course also develops negotiation skills to support positive stakeholder relationships and achieve mutually beneficial agreements. Through real-world scenarios and applied learning, you'll gain the confidence to manage contractual obligations, resolve issues, and contribute to efficient business operations across a range of industries and organisational settings.
How you'll learn
This program is delivered over 6 months. You’ll participate in a 3-day workshop at UQ St Lucia, attend online sessions, learning and assessments.
You'll develop the knowledge and skills to manage contracts, finalise contracts, manage contract performance and undertake negotiations.
The in person workshop is facilitated by industry experts to create an enriching and engaging teaching and learning experience. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided.
Assesment
You will be assessed through a variety of methods, including written, work-based portfolios and practical assessments.
Start dates
7–9 September 2026
You must:
- be aged 18 years or over
- be a Queensland government employee
- hold a minimum of a Higher School Certificate (or equivalent).
All UQ Skills programs require access to a computer with a Windows operating system, up-to-date versions of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a reliable internet connection.

Third-party arrangement
UQ Skills has a third-party arrangement with AcademyGlobal to deliver this program. In this arrangement, UQ Skills is the Principal RTO.
At all times, the Principal RTO is responsible for the quality of the training and assessment you will receive in compliance with Standards for RTOs 2015, and for the issuance of the Australian Qualifications Framework certification documentation.
These standards set out the requirements that an organisation must meet in order to be an RTO and ensure the integrity and quality of nationally recognised training provided by registered training organisations.
$1,950 for government approved employees.
To achieve this qualification you must complete 4 units of competency.
