How you'll learn
This program is offered over 9 months.
Choose from 2 delivery modes:
- Blended option: Attend in-person classes at UQ Gatton's world-class facilities over 3 days (Monday to Wednesday), and submit assessments online.
- Online option: You must live in Australia, have a reliable internet connection and computer, and have access to a farm or workplace for assessment activities. Our teachers will support you via video conference, phone or online chat sessions.
Queensland State-Wide Delivery: Students accessing subsidised funding may apply for a place from anywhere in Queensland.
Assessment
You will be assessed through a variety of methods, including written exams and reports, oral presentations and practical demonstrations.

To meet the academic suitability requirements for entry into this Diploma program, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- have successfully completed Year 12 and provide a copy of your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education; or
- have successfully completed a Certificate IV qualification or higher;
- have successfully completed a Certificate III qualification and undertake an approved Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment, demonstrating competence at Exit Level 3 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both reading and numeracy; or
- equivalent industry experience and undertake an approved Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment, demonstrating competence at Exit Level 3 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in both reading and numeracy.
All UQ Skills programs require access to a computer with a Windows operating system, up-to-date versions of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a reliable internet connection.
Other requirements
To meet occupational health and safety requirements for practical assessments: long-sleeved shirt and trousers, enclosed work boots, sun-safe hat, safety glasses, sunscreen and water bottle.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) testing
You’re required to complete a language, literacy and numeracy test as part of the enrolment process. This helps us identify and plan for any learning or support needs you may have before you start your training.
Recognition of Prior Learning
If you have recent work experience you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning.
Create your USI
You must provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before we can accept your enrolment.

Tertiary Access Payment
Students who finished Year 12 last year and need to move from outer-regional or remote Australia to study at UQ Skills' Gatton campus may be eligible for the $5,000 Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) to help with relocation costs.
Scholarships
New and currently enrolled domestic students can apply for The Rt Hon Doug Anthony AC, CH, FTSE Scholarship for UQ Skills.

Once you complete your Diploma of Agribusiness Management (AHC51422), you may wish to continue your studies and complete the Diploma of Agriculture (AHC50122).
You can transfer credit from your Diploma of Agribusiness Management into the Diploma of Agriculture, which means you’ll only need to successfully complete an additional 4 units to gain the second qualification.
