Take the confusion out of allergen management and labelling compliance.
Tailored specifically for the food manufacturing sector, this practical, hands-on masterclass is based on industry best-practices and covers how to comply with the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) labelling code, including:
- understanding FSANZ's Plain English Allergen Labelling (PEAL) requirements
- identifying allergens in ingredients
- developing clear, concise allergen labelling
- determining cross-contamination risks and precautionary labelling
- ensuring consumer safety and regulatory compliance.
How you'll learn
You'll complete a 1-day workshop at UQ St Lucia, with a virtual classroom available upon request.
During this training you'll explore case studies involving allergen recalls and the lessons learned from these events. You'll also get the opportunity to put your new skills into practice by creating a food label.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
You must:
- be aged 18 years or over
- work in the food manufacturing sector.
This training is ideal for food safety managers, quality assurance staff, new product development/research and development officers, and anyone involved in food labelling and allergen management.
Recognition of Prior Learning
If you have recent work experience you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning.
