Description

The Department of Education offer scholarships domestic students commencing diplomas at UQ Gatton in 2024.

This information is specifically for domestic students studying the Diploma of Agriculture AHC50116 offered by UQ Skills (RTO code #1511).

Eligibility

You're eligible for the UQ Skills Destination Australia Scholarship if you:

  • are an Australian citizen, permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen
  • commence full-time enrolment and study the UQ Skills Diploma of Agriculture AHC50116 at UQ Gatton in Term 1, 2024
  • maintain ongoing residency in a regional area for the diploma/scholarship duration, as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Structure from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
  • are from an underrepresented group e.g. You:
    • live with a disibility
    • are a First Nations person
    • have a low socio-economic status (low-SES)
    • are the first in your family to undertake tertiary study.
  • satisfactorily complete the application process 
  • submit all documents to meet the conditions associated with an offer from UQ Skills for an eligible diploma program by the scholarship closing date.

Note: You're also eligible to apply if you're:

  • a UQ Skills or UQ alumni commencing an eligible diploma program in a different level of study in 2024 (i.e. Diploma after a Certificate IV or Bachelor) 
  • an existing UQ Skills or UQ students (in an ineligible program) who is seeking a program change to commence a new course of study in an eligible diploma program in 2024.

Ineligibility

You're considered ineligible for the UQ Skills Destination Australia Scholarship if you:

  • haven't completed the scholarship application process
  • are enrolled in a UQ Skills program other than the Diploma of Agriculture AHC50116.
  • live outside a regional area, as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Structure from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. (You may choose to relocate to a regional area for the purposes of this scholarship.)
  • defer, interrupt, withdraw or cancel your studies or enrolment in an eligible UQ Skills Diploma program fully delivered at UQ’s Gatton campus. This scholarship cannot be deferred under any circumstances.
  • simultaneously hold another scholarship from UQ Skills or another UQ school, faculty or unit for your study at UQ Skills.

  • eligibility as outlined in the overview and in the Destination Australia guidelines
