The Micro Business Skill Set (BSBSS00102) gives you the skills and confidence to distil your ideas down to a clear, actionable plan.
This nationally accredited course covers how to:
- identify a business opportunity and its key components
- research and develop business plans to achieve set goals.
UQ Skills delivers this training in partnership with UQ Ventures, supporting entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey.
How you'll learn
This program is delivered over 8 weeks through a combination of online study, virtual workshops and face-to-face masterclass events at UQ’s St Lucia campus.
An accelerated 6 week version of this program is available for people already working in industry.
Assessment
You will be assessed through a variety of methods, including written exams and reports, oral assessments and practical demonstrations.

This program can be run for workplace cohorts on request. Contact us for details. Minimum numbers are required to go ahead.
To enrol in this course, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- Completion of Year 12, or
- Certificate III in any field.
Accelerated model
If you are seeking to enrol in the accelerated version of this training, you must demonstrate you have at least 3 years of work experience in a business setting, in addition to the standard entry requirements.
Recognition of Prior Learning
If you have recent work experience you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning.

You must provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before we can accept your enrolment.
