Equip yourself with the knowledge and skills to bring a new food product to market.
Drawing from industry best practices and cutting-edge research, this practical, hands-on training is tailored specifically for the food manufacturing sector.
You'll learn how to:
- create a roadmap to navigate key milestones to bring a product from idea to market
- identify and mitigate food safety risks at every stage of product development
- undertake various preservation methods, including thermal processing, dehydration, fermentation, and packaging techniques
- scale up production from lab-scale to commercial-scale operations.
How you'll learn
You'll complete a 1-day workshop at UQ St Lucia, with a virtual classroom available upon request.
During this training you'll explore new product development case studies and the lessons learned from these events. You'll also get the opportunity to put your skills into practice by developing a new product in class.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
You must:
- be aged 18 years or over
- work in the food manufacturing sector.
This training is ideal for food safety managers, operations and quality assurance staff, and new product development/research and development officers.
Recognition of Prior Learning
If you have recent work experience you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning.
